Wood Sandpiper - Marloes Mere

Wood sandpiper out from Oriole Hide just before dusk this evening - about time one showed up! Earlier this afternoon had a good look around West Dale to St Anns Head, the 2 Yellow wagtails were right up by the main field gate with the herd of cows. Pied wagtails numbers seem to have grown c30. Also a snipe flushed from one field and a whimbrel over. Flock of 7 chough, 2 wheatear and male kestrel. Marloes Mere: Britton Hide: 4 snipe over and a Green Sandpiper with 2 snipe feeding out in front, lapwings calling. Oriole Hide: 7.45pm The Wood Sandpiper was roosting alongside a Green Sandpiper on the muddy island directly in front, but then decided on a bit of supper. Watched it until 8.30pm as it picked around, seemed settled and finding plenty to eat.
