Something of a Raptor fest at Castlemartin Corse this morning. Good views of a juvenile Marsh Harrier as it hunted along a ditch. A Peregrine then appeared and harried the Harrier for some time with plenty of dashing lunges and both birds rolling to present talons. The Peregrine broke off only for a Buzzard to appear which the Harrier took exception to and the Buzzard was on the receiving end.
The Harrier and Peregrine were around for some time with intermittent squabbles, the Peregrine breaking off at one point to dash off and show a Sparrowhawk who was boss!
A few small birds around as well with c.130 Linnets in two flocks, 40 ish Goldfinch, one Wheatear and a Whinchat.
At Freshwater West 9 Barwits flew past in company with 15 Curlew.
