Lots more Redwings

From Den Vaughan - Rosebush this morning, 0730 to 0830 - 10,000 redwings moving east to north east, flying up from Fishguard way. Unbelievable! never seen daylight passage like this before - waves of between 200 and 500 birds almost every minute. The odd song thrush and fieldfare mixed in. Odd considering the wind direction - A massive over-shoot during the night with birds coming in off the Irish sea? What's been the picture on the coast?
