Skomer
A pretty nice last couple of days and a few good birds today. A Yellow browed Warbler and a Black Redstart were the star birds and were accompanied by 105 Mallard, 38 Teal, 4 Wigeon, 2 Pintail, a Gadwall, 16 Robins, 1 Grey Wagtail, 7 Skylark, 10 Song Thrush, 10 Blackbirds, 4 Stonechats, a Blackcap, 3 Chiffchaff, 7 Goldcrest, 30 Starlings, 28 Chaffinch and 7 Goldfinch. A big flock of birds (c. 200) also flew over at lunchtime but remain unidentified, they could have been thrushes i suppose. There were also some black headed and common gulls as well as a few kittiwake and some auks in the bay at high tide. The best bird of yesterday was a Whimbrel in with curlew on the neck.
