St Davids Hd am
A really enjoyable morning started with a Yellow Wagtail on the Golf Course with 50+ Pieds and then a Turtle Dove which flew up from the direction of the Bay and eventually off north (a Pembs tick). Then as I approached The Cabin along the Cabin Track down to Whitesands Beach a Wryneck flew over the garden and was eventually seen well on a fence post (sixth of the autumn for me - Clive Jones saw it a little nearer the Beach along the path later). Porthmelgan Valley just had a Spotted Flycatcher and a couple of Whitethroats. At the Youth Hostel I heard some Goldcrests and got onto the first movement I saw which turned out to be a Yellow-browed Warbler (I never did see the Goldcrests) and that was it apart from half a dozen Chiffchaffs. Despite the wet and blustery conditions, a memorable morning's birding. And I just found out there's a White's Thrush on St Agnes, it won't still be there on Saturday will it? Pleeease!
