Skokholm
The totals for the day came to a Kestrel, three Water Rail, a Golden Plover,
two Snipe, two Whimbrel, five Curlew,
11 adult, a second-winter and a first-winter Mediterranean Gull, 220 Black-headed
Gull, two Wryneck, 74 Skylark, a Sand Martin, 559 Swallow (although they were briefly passing at a rate of 130 a
minute), 17 House Martin, 281 Meadow Pipit, a Yellow Wagtail, two Grey
Wagtail, 28 Robin, a Redstart, a Stonechat, 38 Wheatear,
11 Blackcap, eight Chiffchaff, two (possibly three) Yellow-browed Warbler, 52 Goldcrest, seven Chaffinch,
16 Goldfinch, 17 Linnet and seven Reed Bunting. A Vestal and
a Clouded Yellow continued a good
run of migrant lepidoptera and six Common
Dolphin were off the South Coast.
