Mass panic caused by what was probably a prospecting Peregrine, though I did not manage to see it. Whirling about in the air were about 400 Golden Plovers and c250 Lapwings. Other species kept their heads down, so to speak, including c50 Wigeon, 20 Canada Geese and 2 Little Egrets.
