On my WeBS count this morning - some 500 or so woodpigeons just north of Garron Pill, some apparently flying north, others hanging around in the trees, others on the ground. Then probably a couple of thousand golden plover at Fowborough at around midday. Not on my patch, but pretty impressive (I could claim only about 400 at Coedcanlas). Still it was a nice morning out in really nice weather. A few more days like that would be most welcome.
