Firstly, congratulations to Richards & Mike for the overhaul of Pembrokeshire Birds (the best County bird blog in Britain, in my humble opinion) - looks superb and I look forward to exploring it!
Had a bit of meander across the Gann this afternoon, traversing the saltmarsh a good way up towards Mullock. No Jack Snipe, but plenty of Snipe, and a nice flock of saltmarsh Rock Pipits (8+) adjacent to the old pits towards Mullock. At the Gann 90+ Teal and 30+ Wigeon on the pool, along with a Little Egret, 5 Redshank and 23 Brent Geese. Around at Dale I met up with Derek G and together we had a good look at the gull roost as the already strong wind whipped up even more and the light changed from good to poor and back to good again. A minimum of 14 Mediterranean Gulls were logged (13 adults & 1 1CY) and birds were dropping in all the time as the light faded.
Merry Christmas to one and all - a photo of my favourite bird of 2013, but then I am biased.....
