Llys-y-fran Reservoir - Ringer Dinger
First visit this winter to check the gull roost. Perhaps unsurprisingly, given it's regularity over several winters, we soon picked up the/an adult Ring-billed Gull amongst the large flock of Lesser Black-backed Gulls. A really good number of Black-headed Gulls, perhaps approaching 1,000 birds, with at least 3 Mediterranean Gull amongst them (2 adults and a 1CY), and around 20 Common Gull. A flock of 170 Canada Geese contained a single Greylag, and 6 Goosander (3 males, 3 females), 5 Great-crested Grebe, 1 Little Grebe and 60 Lapwing flying over completed a nice start to winter birding here (Dave A & Paul G).
