Having read the previous posts from Dave & Mike Y.P. I took myself down to St Ishmaels WWTW, to have a look at the Chiffchaffs. (being on my doorstep it would be rude not to!) Recalling there was a similar scenario there 4/5 Winters ago, I met Mervyn there & we had an enjoyable time sorting through them all (12?) comparing the varying colour tones. Soon we were joined by Sash & Steve. I soon realised - again, there are several schools of thought/debate about the different races of these birds. Anyway whatever they are, it`s still good to see the different variation in plumage. I also learnt, (in my case) what N.V.Q. means. Not Very Qualified! Earlier at the Gann, 2 drake Pintails were a new bird for me there.
