A red-breasted merganser was mingling with the dabbling ducks in the Upper Eastern Arm this afternoon. A redhead, but in poor light I'm not committing myself as to female or first winter. First time I've seen one on the lakes in nearly 22 years. I did squeeze off a couple of atrocious photos but nothing I'd dare share here.
