It's Newgale again: Glaucous Gull & Green-winged Teal

A prolonged visit to the storm bashed Newgale this afternoon.  The adult Glaucous Gull was on the beach for a while, but the gulls that wanted a preen tried and failed to settle due to people & dogs walking through them.  The drake Green-winged Teal was on the marsh with Eurasian Teal but not easy to see in rushes, best viewed by walking onto the southern end of the campsite at the road closure to the field boundary at the rear where there is a gate with a yellow "No Entry" sign, and view from there.  The number of gulls in the general area is quite amazing, big feeding flocks all the way from Pen-y-cwm to the south end of Newgale.  We estimated at least 50 Kittiwakes and perhaps 10 Mediterranean Gulls (2+ 2CY, 1 1CY, 7+ adults) in the melee.  Well worth a careful look over the coming days and weeks....
