Newgale again

We had a couple of hours at Newgale late this morning before the heavy rain set in. We failed to see  Kumliens or Iceland Gulls, but had good views of two 1st winter and the near adult Glaucous gulls on the beach.

We also noted another colour-ringed Med Gull, an adult with a white ring on the left leg. The inscription appears to be a letter followed by 337 but try as we could with a telescope we could not get more than that. A couple of poor photos below - another one for you Dave! What presumably was the green (French) ringed immature was also present. Both birds were at the flooded marsh area.

There were plenty of teal about but we could not relocate the green-winged, they disappeared into the vegetation when a peregrine flew through. Flocks of snipe were flying about when we arrived, in excess of 50 noted and at least 6 stonechats (3 pairs) were also near the marsh.
