Newgale pm
The adult Kumlien's Gull was still at the mouth of the Brandy Brook his afternoon, watched by Robert and Jenny Briggs and myself. Then I noticed an apparent immature White-winger flying around. It was difficult to even stand up in the wind so it was difficult to get details but it also looked to have strongly-marked primaries. We followed it down the beach and eventually got better views. An interesting gull certainly. I think it's 'beyond the pale' for pale Herring and too well marked for a leucistic individual. Also it looked pretty big and that bill looks good for Glaucous. So a Nelson's hybrid I think.
