A Red Kite over Sir Thomas Picton School in Haverfordwest was followed by 2 more at Pelcomb Cross. At Newgale, as well as the stranded bus and closed road, the adult drake Green-winged Teal was on the marsh, as was the 2CY Nelson's Gull (the bird seen recently at Simpson Cross, very Glaucous like from a distance) and the adult Kumlien's Gull put in an appearance before disappearing back across to the beach at the north end.
The day finished with another gull roost at Llys-y-fran with Paul G and Brian S and it was not to disappoint. 3 juvenile Kumlien's Gulls were seen (all appeared to be the same as those seen on Thursday, the one photographed is the palest of them all), along with the usual adult Ring-billed Gull, 4 Yellow-legged Gulls (2 adults, 2 2CY) and no fewer than 6 Mediterranean Gulls (3 ads, 1 3CY and 2 2CY). Fantastic stuff.
