Marloes Mere - last night
100s of Swallows with good numbers of Sand Martins and House Martins, plus 5 Swifts. Masses of flylife and with cattle now on the marsh surely primed for a few Yellow Wags. A Peregrine (looked like a female from size) was sat in the field towards Trehill Farm and later seen in an adjacent field. The drake Tuftie was still in North Pond and appeared a bit anxious with cattle moving nearby and the drake Teal still on station out from Britton Hide. 6 Whimbrel in field near Britton Hide. Pair Shoveler and 2-3 males flying around. Male Shelduck also getting in amongst them. Coots with 2 chicks and one with single chick. Brief look at the Gann at last light 10 Whimbrel flying around looking for somewhere to settle, scanned the Herring gulls but wasn't aware of Dereks earlier sighting or perhaps I might have tried harder.
