After a day of admin stuck in front of our computers Lisa and I took the dog for a walk at 5pm. We had only just stepped out of the garden when Lisa noticed a warbler flit out of the willows in the garden towards the gorse in the farmhouse valley. Over the course of the next 5 mins it showed itself in brief snatches - a female subalpine warbler. It then disappeared and despite an hours searching did not give itself up again. Will have another look before last light and try again first thing in the morning
A merlin was the only other bird of note.
