At least one Spotted Flycatcher in the sallows in the valley all day, feeding actively and being rather aggressive towards other birds (Whitethroats, Blue Tits) in its "patch". Mervyn says its the first he has seen this autumn. Plenty of juvenile birds around, including Wheatears, Goldfinches, Linnets and Stonechats.
On the Mere, a single juvenile Lapwing, a showy pair of Snipe and a glimpse at the far side of a probable Green Sandpiper in flight.
At least 3 separate family groups of 4-5 Chough along the Coast Path, and a Kestrel. Mervyn has seen two very young ones, which suggests that they have nested nearby.
