Water Rail - I'm not aware that they have bred on the marsh this year, presumably the first returning bird seen this morning at Creek Hide, with Moorhens and Snipe.
Green Sandpiper calling early morning, otherwise waders are in short supply, with two Greenshanks and two summer plumaged Black-tailed Godwits in the estuary the best today.
23 new Sedge Warblers this morning suggesting passage is starting. This follows our best July total of Sedge Warblers captured (new or retraps) since 2011.
