A Lesser Whitethroat was the best bird on the marsh this morning, only our 6th September Lesser Whitethroat, and our latest.
For readers unfamiliar with West Wales, Lesser Whitethroats like Reed Warblers are recent colonists to the area with both species not being proved breeding until the early 1970's. Both species are still spreading in the county and appear to be doing very well.
Other warblers this morning included, 2 Cetti's, 23 Blackcap, 16 Chiffchaff, and 3 Reed Warblers.
This evening c300 Swallows were having a late feed over Mallard Pond, and 1 Kingfisher too.
