From Ian Sefton - I saw an Osprey on post by rivers edge from
West Williamson yesterday, went for closer look today from Upton side, the
Osprey was perched on the same post again, around 1600hrs it started fishing on
a rising tide, it made several dives before it drifted out of view towards
Cresswell Quay river, when I looked back to the post was surprised to see a
second Osprey perched. After around 10 minutes the other bird returned, after
flying round each other for a few minutes, one bird settled on the post &
the other found a perch on dead branches just up from the Heronry at Upton. I
watched for another hour or so & neither bird moved, don't think the one on
the post wanted to give it up!
The post is the highest one opposite the Upton
inlet, just West Williamson side of the river at low tide.
