Dale and Marloes

Very high tide at Mullock Bridge, virtually all of marsh submerged. 110 Mallard, 5 Teal, 5 Little Egret, 1 Grey Heron and dozen Ringed Plover flying around. Down at the Gann. What I first thought were otters turned out to be a pair of Grey Seals about a metre out working along the ridge and last seen by mouth of the river. On the very full pools 29 Teal, 5 Little Grebe, 2 Heron and 2 Greenshank. Dale airfield: Ringed Plover calling and a Grey Wagtail, heavy shower sent me off to find cover. Marloes Mere: Young Tuftie out from Britton Hide, 30 Mallard, 1 Wigeon, 2 Shoveler and 10 Teal. 5 Lapwing and a pair of Ruff in field next to Trehill Farm. 6 Jays heading towards Sandy Haven as I passed Hasguards Cross. Plenty of gulls in the sodden fields.
