Castlemartin Corse

Did the Webs this morning with Morris North and John Best. Not surprisingly after all the recent rain the Corse was very wet and there were, consequently, plenty of birds. The vast majority were concentrated on flooded field at the far, east, end of the Corse - 323 Wigeon, 163 Mallard, 102 Teal, 17 Shoveller, 2 Greylag Geese, 42 Black-tailed Godwit, 1 Redshank, 27 Snipe, 28 Golden Plover, 270 Lapwing, 14 Curlew, 5  Dunlin, 1 Little Egret,

A female Marsh Harrier was seen several times over the reedbed and a Cettis was heard briefly.
