Braving the arctic temperatures was well worthwhile with 5 birds (4 males) roosting on my BTO Hen Harrier roost count (my biggest count in many years). A Merlin and 2 Buzzards also put in an appearance. The Starling roost was pretty disappointing with around 2,000 heading to the conifer plantation at dusk. So wonderful to watch 4 male Hen Harriers flying together over this magical heathland site. The cycle up and down from Haverfordwest was enjoyable, but very cold particularly on the way back.
