Pelagic Tuesday
I was lucky enough to be invited out with the Sea Trust team yesterday on a Shark sighting trip with Lloyd Jones of Haven Diving Services.
Unfortunately, despite chumming for 4 hours 30 or so miles out, the Sharks did not oblige although 2 Blue Sharks were seen by Lloyd. The weather, however, was glorious with a calm sea and the chum brought in quite a few Fulmars, Kittiwakes and other gulls and a minimum of 11 Storm Petrels. Plenty of Gannets around as well as Auks on fishing trips from the islands. The Stormies stayed a little further away than I would I would have liked but a nice photo opportunity nevertheless. Loads of Common Dolphins seen on the way back in as well as three Minke Wales so a great day out.
