Thwarted by the stronger than forecast winds - no boats to Skomer today - I headed for The Gann this morning. 7 Common Sandpipers moving along the beach as the tide dropped was a good number and there was further evidence of wader passage with 2 summer plumage Dunlin and 1 Greenshank on the pools. Also on the pools 18 B H Gull, 2 Little Egret and a pair of Shelduck with 2 well grown young.
Marloes Mere was pretty quiet although a juv Whinchat was nice. Along the cliffs towards the Deer Park there was a male Stonechat with 2 youngsters and there were two good sized flocks of Starlings in the area of 60 and 30 birds.
