In the past when I've visited Brynberian Bog to tick Whinchat on my year list I've only been lucky to see one or two birds.
Late this afternoon I did'nt fancy plodding through the bog for this annual visit, instead I parked just off of the B4329 - Preselli mountain road and walked east to a spot (roughly SN 088 326) overlooking the bog. Suddenly I was in 'Whinchat Heaven', in front of me at one time I counted 16 Whinchats (6 males, c10 females/juv's), fantastic.
