Teifi -- mainly ducks & waders..

Going down the river...
From the River Viewpoint, where we had just met Eddie and Bea (Skomer Wardens), three splendid adult male Goosander.
St Dogmael's Quay, 250 Lapwing, 100 Wigeon, 70 Teal.
Webley, 10 Redshank and 83 un-ringed Oystercatchers.
With the SCAN Wader Group and Paddy's efforts there are hundreds, if not a couple of thousand ringed Oystercatchers on the south-west Wales estuaries. Some with colour rings too, these birds never appear on the Teifi...

34 Barnacle Geese to finish. A strange count !
The resident "Teifi" flock after the breeding season is c90 birds and they rarely split up.
Is this part of an unusual split in the flock.....or passage birds ??

Mandarin update;-
We have seen the photo of a male Mandarin near Priory Bridge recently, we await the date, and look forward to seeing the Mandarin too....!
