Castlemartin Corse

Cold wind knifing across the Corse. A restless flock of around 16 white wagtails on the Gupton fields, and 4-5 wheatear on the coastal field S of Starmans Hall. 4 lapwing in the usual breeding area - they were sitting tight, I didn't see them until they were flushed by a female sparrowhawk. Then as I was walking back up the bridleway towards Gupton farm buildings, a ringtail hen harrier came low over the ridge from the direction of the Range, headed down to the reedbed, across it, then hunted westwards along the watercourse on the N side - I lost it near the road at F West.

Plenty of small birds on the farmland (skylark, mipit, linnet, goldfinch, dunnock, reed bunting etc.) but all quiet in the reedbed. Lots of sand martins.
