Saturday -- A
walk of the Gwaun Valley produced dozens of Willow Warbler, several
Chiffchaff, a few Whitethroat and a couple of Blackcap. A Cuckoo was calling as we left.
Back home in Lochvane an unusual sight was a smart male Siskin,
rapidly seen off by our two nesting pairs of Goldfinch. As dusk fell a
Barn Owl quartered the field, and later it was calling from the
direction of Brawdy.
