Mandarin and Med Gulls - Teifi

This moulting male Mandarin was an interesting find by Gary on the river this morning, from the River View Point, presumably the bird from earlier this year....

Med Gulls have started to arrive, a 1st and a 2nd Summer this morning on the river through the marsh. Interesting how Med Gulls are returning in numbers that almost match Black-headed Gulls  with three so far.
Photo below from Gary.

Adrian had two similar Med Gulls in Fishguard Harbour yesterday.

Juvenile birds about include,- 2/3 Grey Herons, 2 Mute Swan cygnets, three broods of Shelduck and we saw our first juvenile Reed Buntings this morning.
No young Teal or Shoveler, but of interest two presumably non breeding Goosander on the river.
Whilst on waterbirds, news from Steve Berry of Great Crested Grebes raising young on Rosebush Resr.
