Little Stint at Gann and Marsh Harrier at Marloes

A Little Stint was lurking with the Oystercatchers on the beach at The Gann at 3pm. Singles of Common Sandpiper, Greenshank and Redshank on the pools and Wheatears on the marshy spit. Grey Mullet breaking the surface everywhere.

At Marloes Mere around 5pm a female-type Marsh Harrier flew westwards in front of Britton Hide. It did not look like stopping and I could not pick it up on the western side, possibly on Skokholm by now. Five Teal and a single Snipe flew in and disappeared into the long vegetation, but a single Lapwing showed on the mud. A Kingfisher spent a good 30 minutes perched over the ditch beyond the furthest patch of clear water. A single House Martin joined over 100 Swallows over the mere and gathering on the powerlines by the farm.
