A lovely few hours out this morning, bit windy for picking things up on call but clear blue skies made up for that. At Martin's Haven a male Sparrowhawk headed out over Jack Sound towards Skomer, 2 Wheatear at Wooltack Point including a very confiding 1st-winter, lots of Meadow Pipits around and a few Skylarks going over. At least 11 Chough, probably more, very vocal and doing what they do best - an amazing experience on a clear October morning with nobody else around!
A circular walk took in Marloes Mere, highlights included 20 Lapwing, a Chiffchaff, 17 Wigeon, 3 Shoveler, 3 Curlew, 2 Grey Heron and 20+ each of Mallard and Teal. Quick look at the Gann as the tide dropped, lots of Rock Pipits on the high tide line (there will be a Buff-bellied Pipit one day there...), 5 Brent Geese, 9 Bar-tailed Godwit, 6 Grey Plover, 11 Ringed Plover, 6 Dunlin & a Little Egret.
On Friday, 2 Ospreys seen at the Gann (Rob Williams).
