more Hoopoe sightings from earlier

Photos from John Fletcher

From visiting birders John and Martin from Gloucester: Hoopoe seen only 50m away from us at 13.30-hrs for a full 5 minutes on Deer Park,  Martins Haven.  Near the seal-pupping beaches that overlook Skomer looking back towards the car park on smoother grass areas. Also seen 1. Merlin and Great Northern Diver.

And also seen this morning by Rhys Jenkins. Initially 930ish bird was feeding on the path leading through the scrub, halfway between the lookout and cliff edge overlooking Jack Sound.

Observed for few minutes before bird flew back towards Lockely Lodge. We walked back 30 mins later and bird was amongst gorse on path just before the descent to the Deer Park entrance.

And from Steve Jones this evening:
The Hoopoe was still at the Deer Park this evening (6.30 ish). It was feeding along the cliff edge by the fort on the south side. Also a few Goldcrests and Chiffchaffs by the gate attracting the attentions of a Sparrowhawk.
