More Hawfinches

AM today, 4 HAWFINCHES alighted in the tallest tree in Porthclais car park.

Equally notable was a massive flock of WOODPIGEONS, viewed from our caravan at 08:00 here at Pencarnan.

An estimated flock, well in excess of 12000 birds, flew high in a remarkably disciplined and unbroken line. They advanced steadily into wind in the direction of Ramsey Island. Also remarkable was the length of this line, estimated to be equal to the distance of our caravan from St Davids Head across Whitesands Bay - 2 kilometres! Quite a stunning sight, acted out in slow motion.

And whilst composing this blog a LITTLE EGRET flew past the window, the third caravan sighting in eighteen years.
