Teifi waders

The colder weather seems to have increased the number of waders around the Teifi.

A count of 13 Snipe around the edges of the pond at Mallard hide on the Teifi Marshes reserve was good for November.

A Redshank count of 56 at high tide this afternoon was comparable with the previous highest November count in 2004 of 55. (BTO Wetland Bird Survey data). The highest Teifi Redshank WeBS count was 100 in 1969.

Other waders included 50 Dunlin, 12 Ringed Plover, 3 Black-tailed Godwit, 1 Greenshank and a Knot.
