The day ended well with a wander into the Mallard reedbed to check equipment, flushed 2 Jack Snipe and 15 Common Snipe from the rides. A windy start this morning produced a Red-throated Diver flying across the estuary and 3 female Common Scoter in the bay. The turnover of Scoter feeding just beyond the surf even though usually in single figures is remarkable.
Waders around the estuary included 1 Knot, 3 Black-tailed Godwits, 2 Ringed Plover, c30 Dunlin, and still a high number c30+ of Redshank. c800 Gulls at the Webley during high tide, highlights, 1 Med Gull and c35 Common Gulls.
The Cattle Egret has not been seen since Thursday - 1 found on the Dyfi on Friday !!
