Had time for a quick look at the top end of Sandy Haven Pill this afternoon, highlight was a cracking Firecrest in the bushes bordering the pill on the west side. 2 Little Egrets, 100+ Curlew, 2 Wigeon & 5 Redshank were also present.
On to the Gann towards dusk, amongst the gathering of gulls at the river mouth 22 Mediterranean Gulls (19 adults, 2 2CY, 1 1CY). Decent selection of waders included 4 Grey Plover, 5 Bar-tailed Godwit, 4 Dunlin, 10 Ringed Plover & a Greenshank. Looking from the southern end, I could see a single female Goldeneye but no grebes at all.
