Much urgent work is needed though to safeguard remaining curlew breeding populations in Wales. Hopefully the workshop has helped to focus the issues so that more can be done to help turn around their present decline to one of a gradual increase again.
In Pembs at present, curlews only still "possibly breed" on Skomer. It's been many years since they last attempted to breed on the mainland. It would be great to see and hear them uttering their evocative bubbling display calls over the Preselis and surrounding areas once again!
