Tystie, Merlin and Purple Sands.....

A breeding plumage Black Guillemot in Fishguard Harbour this morning, best viewed from the Inner Breakwater looking towards the ferry berth.

A Merlin flew  across the Teifi estuary to Cemaes Head and 4 Wheatear were slightly out of county on the cliff top at the Cliff Hotel where 4 Purple Sandpipers yesterday had been replaced by 1 Purple Sandpiper and 1 Turnstone today.
The usual waders around the Teifi estuary included Grey Plover, Knot, Redshank, Dunlin, Ringed Plover and Snipe. Four Black-tailed Godwits feeding opposite Curlew Hide presumably arrived as the tide dropped. An adult Med Gull the only Gull of note today and 3 Great Crested Grebes on the sea. 3/4 Chiffchaff were singing along with 1 Cetti's Warbler on the Reserve this morning, but the Sand Martins have moved on....
