An early morning walk from the Car Park in Minwear Woods, going up through the main bridleway into Canaston Woods, produced a wide variety of birds, including numerous Garden Warblers and Blackcaps, 2 singing Wood Warblers and a Tree Pipit.
The highlights for me were a pair of Spotted flycatchers, which flew up from only a few feet away into a nearby Tree, after I had diverted from the main path, and about 5 Crossbills that flew over from one section of conifers to another calling loudly.
