Hi - there was a flock of about 30 whimbrel behind the dunes at Newport, at high tide this morning. And 1-2 grasshopper warblers in the rough, over towards the beach car park, where I haven't heard them before. There seem to be quite a few around these parts this spring. Plus a single common whitethroat. The estuary was looking v quiet, with just one red-head goosander and some non-breeding gulls.
