Out and About near St Davids

Thanks to JB for posting our sightings for Saturday: a caravan at Pencarnan without the internet was the problem.

As Jonathon pointed out, while watching a Marsh Harrier quartering Trefeiddan March, we spooked a roosting SEO hidden in the ground only yards from where we stood. A little later, while crossing a very boggy Treswny Moor we logged our first Swifts for this year.

Today Saturday, looking to keep our annual list ticking along, we set off early AX Tretio Moor in the gloom of a lifting sea fog - we were targeting three species: Cuckoo, Gropper and Whinchat. As we alighted from the car a Cuckoo flew above us.  It took a good deal more effort to nail the Gropper (our ears are beginning to reveal our age!). As for the Whinchat, which we regarded as a long shot, Marion spotted one close to the car (adjacent the cattle grid) just as we set our minds on a Coffee back at Pencarnan.
