Topsy Turvy Tern

Sorting through the pics of the Sandwich Terns I attempted last night at the Gann, I realised  one I was about to delete was of a  bird flying upside down! Expanding the picture shows maybe something in it`s beak that it may have dropped & it spun to recatch it. The twist on its tail feathers shows a rapid rotational manoeuvre all in a fraction of a second
Had a look for the Curlew Sand this evening, the Dunlin & Turnstone flock were all there but everything sleeping camouflaged in the shingle by the rivermouth made it nigh on impossible to pick out but I suspect it was still there.
