A request for yellowhammer breeding records

Has anyone got any recent Yellowhammer breeding records

If so, Clive Hurford is pulling together records for this and other farmland species and would be very pleased to hear from you. Posting yellowhammer sightings on this site would be great but you can email records directly via churford5@gmail.com

Yellowhammers used to be a widespread and quite common resident species in the County.
Are they still declining? More records are needed!
Aspects of Clive's findings will be presented at the next Pembs Bird Conference on Sunday 25th November at the Picton CentreMore details about the conference will be advertised later on in the year. Make a note in your diary now anyway - it promises to be a good one!

Other interesting birds mentioned by Clive recently included a Hooded Crow on the eastern shore of Angle Bay for the past few days, and good numbers of Med Gulls (all age classes) up to 35 on the shingle spit in Angle Harbour.

Now for something completely different! Clive has just sent a photo of a "pure albino" jackdaw apparently to be found on the school playing field in Monkton. A stunning bird which, as Clive says, is well worth a look.
