Marloes Mere White-fronts

There was a single White-fronted Goose on the Mere when I arrived, amongst the Wigeon. Around 5 minutes later I heard it starting to call: not a familiar sound around here. And then 6 more geese flew up from the South, replying. The lone goose took off and joined up with them and, after circling around, they flew North.
Later, 2 White-fronts flew low over Marloes Sands.
It was good to meet up with Tommy and Jen: I really look forward to seeing his photos. Just from the camera screen the geese were the Greenland sub-species.
Also on the Mere: a male Pintail, still coming out of eclipse, and a couple of Snipe.
