This morning, at high tide, a Water Pipit up from the bridge. Collins says "very like Rock Pipit". but this bird was distinctively pale/white to the naked eye at c100m, though I did put the scope on it to confirm.
Yesterday Med Gull Red PLJ3 is another long lived bird. Ringed, I assume as a chick, in Poland in May 2010, it was at Newport in Nov 2013 and 15. It has been reported 24 times, spends the Winter on the Atlantic coast of France, though has reached Asturias. Oddly the only Summer sightings were in Poland this year. In transit it's also been picked up in Belgium, Devon and the Czech Republic.
Otherwise, Wigeon up to 40+, 6+ Redshanks, variable Dunlin and Ringed Plover (10 - 20 each).
3 redhead Goosanders have been intermittent for several weeks.
The Egret remains resolutely Little.
No geese and the only Swan is a juv Mute.
