Preseli finch movement

Lots of chaffinches (250+), goldfinches(120) and meadow pipits (150) heading eastwards over the ridge above Rosebush this morning between 10 and 12am near Foel Cwmcerwyn. Most of the groups were of 10 to 15, but there were at least 60 goldfinches in one flock which flew very low over the ground. At least 3 bramblings were in with chaffinches and small numbers of other species were also moving through including c20 linnets, 3 redpolls, 6 crossbills and about 40 golden plover. A few skylarks were singing their hearts out but none were moving through, and neither were any thrush species or starlings. An immature kestrel hunting there was the first in the area all year.
