A beautiful, calm and sunny afternoon seemed to have resulted in a lazy day for the gulls at the Gann. Most were loafing on the gravel bank in the river, just upstream of the footbridge. Hoping to find a more exotic gull, I scanned the flock and found a single Spoonbill lurking in the middle. The gulls and Spoonbill took off en masse at 17.06 and headed westwards into the sun, apparently heading towards Marloes.
The four Whooper Swans were again on the sea close to shore on the Musselwick side before flying off towards the south west at 17.30.
